It’s one of the most important dates on the fashion calendar, where the who’s who of Sydney celebrate a new season at David Jones. This year was no exception, with Australia’s top bloggers, fashion editors, models, actors and VIP guests walking the red carpet before checking out the spring/summer collection, getting us all excited for the warmer months!

On the catwalk, David Jones ambassadors Montana Cox, Jessica Gomes and Jesinta Campbell wowed the crowd in the season’s hottest trends including clean summer whites, clashing graphic prints and a whole lot of ’70s-inspired paisley prints, bell sleeves and maxi lengths.

As always the infamous Sydney show was followed by a series of launch nights around the country, Ultimo was lucky enough to cater for the Perth VIP SS 15 Launch in Perth’s Hay st Mall, where the who’s who of Perth came to indulge in canapes, champagne and preview the latest trends straight from Sydney.


We severed a series of 3 canapes to the David Jones VIP’s, sticking to the brief, we were asked to select three of our best cold canapes that would simply blow their guests away. For the evening head chef Matt Leahy selected our top 3 picks:

Sumac chicken with candied cumquat in poppy seed crusted cup 

Parsnip and anise cream, roasted walnut in a beetroot cup

Sous vide beef tenderloin, parmesan palmier, red grape mustard with fine herbs

The event has been really successful and we did had great feedback from the stores and guests, everyone was amazed by the level of service Ultimo was able to provide.
