A Romance in The Garden
Harold Boas Gardens, 10th of March 2024
How They Met
“We met through work. I’d been perving on Sloane for years but always thought she was way out of my league. Then one day our paths crossed officially through work and our connection was immediate. I obviously made the first move, and the rest is history!”
The Proposal
“The proposal was as magical as our first connection. I booked a hot air balloon ride in Northam and gifted it to Sloane as a valentines day gift. A few weeks later (after months of making her believe that I didn’t want to get married for at least a few years) I popped the question in the hot air balloon! She wasn’t expecting it at all, and I’m surprised I was able to keep it a secret for so long but, it paid off!”
The Ceremony & Reception
Our ceremony venue was: Harold Boas Gardens
Our reception was: Moana Hall
“The ceremony was intimate and filled with love, colour and good vibes! The reception was just an amazing – especially the food! The entire day was incredible, although I feel like it went way too fast. People are still talking about how great it was to have been there and how happy Sloane looked – apparently her friends have never seen her that happy before! I plan to keep that up. I mentioned in my vows that she’s the Wendy to my Peter Pan, and I’m going to make every moment we have together magical – even if its just pyjama Sunday’s on the couch.”
Our Advice For Other Couples
“I think the two biggest pieces of advice I could give to any relationship is to have open communication and just to be honest. Sometimes the truth hurts but, if you’re communicating with someone who is just as open to building on your relationship with you (be it your partner, family members, whatever) then its easy to have difficult conversations when both parties are open to growth. Just trust the love, basically!”
The Honeymoon
“We are going on a honeymoon but we had to hold off until Sloane got her Australian Citizenship and then her Australian Passport. So we’ve postponed the honeymoon until next March, as I thought it’d be fun to travel and celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary somewhere magical! We’re going to London and spending the actual anniversary in Paris – the city of love! I couldn’t think of anywhere more fitting. Well… I have recently suggested Disneyland Paris – because the only thing better than Paris, is a magical place that makes dreams come true ♥ This suggestion is pending the wife’s approval, of course. She isn’t a Disney fan so, we’ll see how that goes LOL”
