A Monochromic Dream
Assembly Yard, 2nd March 2024
Tram and Simon tied the knot on a gorgeous March day at the Assembly Yard. The wedding décor, with its variations of cream and warm tones, created a relaxing and beautiful backdrop for celebrating their love with family and friends.
To Tram and Simon: You both looked amazing, and your love truly shone through that day. We are so happy to have witnessed your special moments while catering. Thank you for trusting us to deliver beautiful food for your friends and family on your beautiful day!
How They Met
“We met during a night out several years ago. Simon and his best man, Kevin, had just come back from a Sneaker Art Exhibition in the city, so Simon was feeling extra confident, strutting into Mechanics Institute in the whitest pair of shoes I’ve ever seen.
Things started off slowly because I was quite shy at first, but after a few drinks and lively discussion about our favourite shows and movies, I came out of my shell.
We ended the night eating waffles, added each other on Facebook and agreed to meet again!”
The Proposal
“During our trip to Europe, we mostly stayed in smaller, budget-friendly hotels. However, in Paris, Simon surprised me with an amazing room that had a balcony—fulfilling a dream of experiencing a typical Parisian balcony!
The morning before our anniversary, as we were preparing to visit the Louvre, Simon suggested we take some photos on the balcony. After posing for a few shots I turned around, he was down on one knee! The moment was both shocking and confusing because there was no ring in the box! Simon had held the box upside down and the ring was stuck to the lid.
The surprises didn’t end there, Simon had also arranged flying lessons in the countryside. It was an incredibly fun experience and ended the best day!”
The Ceremony & Reception
Our ceremony & reception venue: Assembly Yard, Fremantle
“The day was absolutely perfect, except for the one thing we couldn’t control—the weather!
Fortunately, there was no rain during the ceremony. White Events and Ultimo quickly adapted with a Plan B, moving the entire reception indoors since it was originally planned to be 100% outside.
Aside from the weather, it was a perfect day. Everything was amazing, from the flowers by Natural Art to the catering by Ultimo. The wedding was almost 4 months ago and people are still talking about the night!”
Our Advice For Other Couples
“Get a planner! There was no stress, and everything fell into place perfectly. We were so grateful to have Lara from White Events on hand to seamlessly execute Plan B when the weather changed. Don’t sweat the small stuff nobody is going to remember, you shouldn’t be losing sleep over the colour of your napkins, just go with what the planner recommends! If you’re debating on having a videographer or not, we 100% recommend getting one! So many moments we didn’t get to see that the videographer captured. It may sound cliché, but take a moment to truly enjoy the night. This has consumed our lives for over a year and it goes by in a flash.”
The Honeymoon
“We had such a great time in Japan, it’s our favourite country and with the Japanese Yen being so weak at the moment, it made it much more affordable than previously!”
